The IC697CPU732 module is a central processing unit or CPU for the GE Fanuc industrial PLC systems. The IC697CPU732 CPU supports both fixed and floating point mathematical operations. The IC697CPU732 module requires a single slot in the PLC chassis and it draws 1 Amp of current from the backplane at 5 Volts DC input voltage. An integrated serial port on the CPU module supports both the RS-485 and RS-422 communication protocols and it can be used to connect to a programmer for the configuration of the CPU module. The IC697CPU732 module is configured with the IC641 programming software. There are no DIP switches or jumpers on the CPU for configuration. The CPU memory is backed by a battery which is rated for 10 months of shelf life at 20 degrees Celsius.
