The Series Three PLC System features a modern design that uses microprocessor technology which in turn offers improved system reliability, high levels of performance and productivity, simplified programming and control, flexible I/O options, and a space-saving blueprint that helps to reduce wiring and operational costs. A standard Series Three PLC system comprises a base unit like the IC630CHS306 Base Unit, a power module on the left side of the base unit, a CPU/programmer, 6 I/O modules, and a terminal block for simplified field wiring. The biggest possible Series Three PLC configuration contains 3 base units (1 primary base unit and 2 secondary base units) that are connected via an expander cable, 24 I/O modules, and a maximum of 400 I/O points.
