The GE Fanuc IC693BEM330 Remote I/O Scanner Module is the main connection point for modules using the Factory Instrumentation Protocol (FIP) communications protocol to exchange data with a series GE Fanuc 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller.

The GE Fanuc IC693BEM330 Remote I/O Scanner Module is one of the most important accessories in a GE Series 90-30 PLC series system and it serves as the main remote I/O scanner module that provides the means for the connection of a wide variety of GE Fanuc intelligent platform modules. This scanner module can only be inserted in slot 1 of any Series 90-30 PLC, and its function is to send and receive data from other modules that are connected to a Factory Instrumentation Protocol (FIP) communications network. Up to 19 I/O modules can be connected to the GE Fanuc IC693BEM330 Remote I/O Scanner Module, using 2 baseplates with 10 slots each that can be interconnected by using an extension cable with a length of up to 50 feet (15.2 meters).
